Seeing animals in their natural habitat is something everyone loves to do. The Dallas Zoo is located just outside of Dallas, Texas. It has over 3,500 animals that you can see and interact with on your visit. This zoo has been around for almost a century and has seen a lot of change since then. Here are some tips and insights to make your day at the zoo more fun.
Getting to the Zoo
The Dallas Zoo is a 30 mile drive outside of Dallas. It is located on Highway 77, which makes it easy to get to. The best way to get there is using public transportation. Remember that this zoo is open year-round so you can visit anytime!
First, when you are at the zoo, make sure to take a break and eat. There is a lot of walking and standing around so it’s important to refuel your body. Another tip is not to rely on cell phones because they are not allowed in the zoo. It would be easy for people to turn their phones off, but then they won’t be able to get help if an animal gets too close or there is some type of emergency.
Just like any other place, there are going to be long lines that may make waiting a little bit harder than usual, especially on weekends or during the summer months. This can be alleviated by knowing where things are located and how long it will take you to get through security.
Another thing worth considering is what time you want to go during the weekdays versus weekends. It seems like weekends are busier with more animals out in the open than on weekdays so plan accordingly.
How to make your day at the zoo more enjoyable
1. Wake up early and get there before the crowds do.
2. Try to find a wildlife encounter or talk with a zookeeper about animals in the area.
3. Bring food for the animals and don’t forget to leave some for yourself!
Bring snacks or some munchies! Bring your own food because the zoo doesn’t have food kiosks.
Wear comfortable shoes! The zoo is not like any other zoo where you can walk around in flip-flops all day long.
Bring lots of questions with you! A great way to enjoy your visit is by learning about all of the animals around you.

“Massage by Design was one of the highlights of our 80th Annual Conference. Thank you for providing our attendees an opportunity to enjoy a moment of relaxation during our conference. Your very professional therapists, I believe, enjoyed themselves as much as the attendees. What a treat! I look forward to working with Massage by Design again in the future.”
