The USS Midway is a warship that was commissioned in 1911, making it one of the oldest warships in the world. It served in World War I and II, and as a training ship for future naval officers.
In 1959, the USS Midway was decommissioned and moved to San Diego to be a museum ship. It is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in San Diego.
If you have time to spare, you should visit the museum. It’s located in the downtown harbor and is open from 10am-6pm every day except Tuesdays. If you go on a Monday, you can take advantage of the free admission offered to SD residents.
