Massage by Design was founded in 2005 by Koko Klipper, a licensed massage therapist who recognized a specific gap in how onsite corporate chair massage was being delivered. The providers that could handle multi-city event schedules reliably did not maintain consistent therapist quality. The ones with excellent therapists could not scale. She built a company that does both.
Twenty-one years later, Massage by Design is a WBENC-certified women-owned business with a national network of licensed massage therapists covering trade shows, corporate appreciation events, health fairs, conferences, and office wellness programs across more than 40 cities. Every massage therapist is licensed in the state where the event takes place and carries individual liability insurance. That has been the standard from the beginning.

AMTA membership reflects professional practice standards and continuing education requirements. Our massage therapists maintain standing in the largest professional massage therapy association in the United States.
ABMP-affiliated massage therapists carry professional liability insurance as a condition of membership. That coverage is separate from the individual liability insurance every Massage by Design therapist holds independently.
NCBTMB board certification is a voluntary credential that goes beyond standard state licensing requirements. It indicates a higher level of training and professional commitment from the massage therapists who hold it.
Massage by Design is certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. Organizations with supplier diversity goals or women-owned business procurement requirements can count bookings with us toward those programs.
What the Buyer Needs to Know
Before Booking
The first question most HR managers and event coordinators have is not about the chair massage itself. It is about what their team will have to do on the day of the event. That question shaped how Massage by Design has operated since 2005.
Our massage therapists arrive with everything they need, with no equipment rental, no setup crew, and no facilities coordination required on your end. A single massage therapist setup fits within a 6.5 by 6.5 foot space and is ready before the first session begins. Breakdown happens at the end of the event window, independently, without your team's involvement.
Billing covers session hours only. We don't charge for setup or breakdown time. One invoice covers the full event regardless of how many massage therapists are on site. For buyers with internal approval processes or procurement thresholds, that means the number in your quote is the number on the invoice.
Organizations that run events in more than one city work with the same coordinator across every market. That includes companies with offices in multiple cities and annual conferences that rotate to a different city each year.
